“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” - Henry Ford

Joanne brings essential planning, innovation and focus to all our projects, particularly in the early stages. Having worked with a number of high profile clients on their web presence, strategy work and proof of concepts such as BBC TV Licensing, Northern Rock, T-Mobile, Sage, Barclays Clearlybusiness, and Nexus and has provided her with a wealth of experience.

Originally from a research background, Joanne completed her MSc in Multimedia Systems at the University of Sunderland, focusing her thesis on new means of collecting design requirements with children through ethnographic methods. Following this research Joanne secured a place as a research assistant at the university, publishing her thesis research at the 2007 HCI conference and working on a large European project aimed to help children better understand cultural differences through game design.

As the Lead Interaction Designer on the BBC TV Licensing redevelopment at TH_NK, Joanne was heavily involved throughout the project responsible for optimising the numerous payment processes and wireframing ensuring all business and user requirements were covered. As well as the creation of a large interactive prototype of the entire website used for usability testing to improve the design. Joanne also organised, conducted and analysed subsequent usability testing on the build phase and quality assurance to ensure a high quality the final product.

At Orange Bus, Joanne heads up our User Experience team working closely with our clients on full scale web projects, independent usability testing, and user-interface design. In her spare time Joanne likes an adventure and organising exciting trips like a New York shopping spree, last minute trips to Paris and Disneyland and trekking the Great Wall of China for charity last year.
