the client's brief
After a highly competitive tender process, Orange Bus were delighted to be awarded the Newcastle Science City website redevelopment. Working with their partners One North East, Newcastle University and Newcastle City Council, Newcastle Science City was formed to position Newcastle as a premier location for science - encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship and supporting the development of science-based businesses.
our approach
This is a challenging and exciting project, in that Newcastle Science City have very different audiences, varying messages to convey and the site is also extremely rich in content. Orange Bus carried out extensive user experience design and planning to determine what content is served to each audience and how this is best displayed to provide a seamless user experience. The core of the site launched in December 09, with further dynamic features such as Science City TV, interactive maps and immersive sub sites planned as a second phase over the coming months.
