Sunderland Software City
the client's brief
Sunderland Software City is a new initiative, based in the North East of England, designed to inspire and encourage the growth of the Software Industry in the region, and to make the area an attractive location of choice for software businesses.
Orange Bus responded to the Invitation To Tender along with many other top agencies, announced as the winners in mid April.
The website has two distinct sets of visitors and these have their own sections, Business and Learners.
our approach
The website design uses the Sunderland Software City branding throughout in dramatic style, with strands of the logo running behind each page, and colours from the logo picked out to illustrate different sections of the site.
A number of external feeds are automatically added to the site when relevant content is published (although the administrators naturally have control over publishing) so the sites own content is supplemented and refreshed regularly.
We launched the site over 3 phases, rolling out phase 1 (launch and CMS) within 6 weeks of beginning the work, phase 2 introduced the live feeds and blogging platform 2 weeks later with the final stage in mid July adding in document sharing and collaboration functionality.
